The Rent Is Too Damn High

According to a new study from a real estate website called Zumper – renting an apartment in Rochester New York has gone up more than 15% from last year. $970 a month is the average price for a 1 bedroom apartment in the city of Rochester ranking us at 56 in the country.
Now the national average for a 1 bedroom apartment is going for $1,220. The numer 1 ranked city for the most expensive rent is out in San Francisco going at around $3,500 a month.
I understand that the cost of living is going up but in some of these cities it’s almost as if they’re trying to price certain income classes out of the areas. In my opinion if you’re going to pay that much every month you might as well look into trying to own your home at least the money you’re spending is actually going towards something.
