Rochester produces another UB women’s hoops star

Written by on February 1, 2020

Rochester has garnered a reputation over the years for producing stars for various sports, including UB women’s hoops. The latest wonder is Dyaisha Fair, from Edison Tech.

A quote from the Rochester native demonstrates her dedication and sporting prowess, saying “It’s kill or be killed. With me being so small I have to have that chip on my shoulder, I have to have that demeanor.” At just 5’5″, Fair has excelled in the field by training against other players far taller than herself.

Spectrum News reports that Fair is expected to be in the running for the MAC Freshman of the Year. There is no shock in this, as during her time in Rochester the native scored an average of 33 points per game. Impressively, she was named the All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year during her senior game at Edison Tech.

Though her goals are by no means for the faint-hearted (she aims to someday play for USA basketball and represent her country) there is no doubt that she has the talent and sheer determination to get herself there. Everyone here in Rochester will be wishing her the best of luck in her future endeavors!
