The Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida is currently recovering after an active shooter opened fire, injuring at least 11 people and killing 3 including himself.

The Pensacola Naval Air Station currently employs more than 16,000 military personnel and 7,400 civilians and is currently on lock down, closed to all non-essential personnel.

According to law enforcement officials, the shooting took place in Building 633, part of the Naval Aviation Schools Command. This is the second active shooting on a U.S. Navy base this week.

Earlier this week in Hawaii, just 8 miles outside of Honolulu, an active-duty sailor assigned to the USS Columbia opened fire at a U.S. Navy shipyard at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam… just two days ago! In this case, the shooter killed two civilians and injured a third before taking his own life.

Stay tuned for ongoing updates on these two events.
