Lifetime Will Air A “Surviving R. Kelly” Follow Up

It seems as if Lifetime just can’t get enough of R. Kelly and his trifling ways. In the network’s initial documentary, “Surviving R. Kelly,” the world was introduced to various women who all alleged to be victims of sexual assault by the hands of Kelly. More than 25 million viewers tuned in for the three night special which sparked the #MuteRKelly movement and eventually led to his arrest.
The two hour follow up special titled, “Surviving R. Kelly: The Impact,” will be hosted by journalist Soledad O’Brien and feature more interviews with survivors as well as an in depth review of R. Kelly’s infamous interview with Gayle King. Psychologists will analyse his behavior and that of his two live-in girlfriends, Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary.
With all of these documented cases coming out against him, its hard to believe R. Kelly is anything other than a predator… but is this just what Lifetime wants us to think? Sharron Winbush, a former employee of Kelly, was going to be interviewed for the film and actually had much to say in his defense, but it was for exactly this reason that she was removed from the project.
See what she had to say about Lifetime in this video:
