Issa Rae Trends Because Some Guy Decided To Read

Written by on May 1, 2018

So Issa Rae was trending today and I just knew it was because she dropped the date for season 3 of her hit series Insecure.
Ummm, no it was because a fan decided to read her book The Misadventures Awkward Black Girl and post a page of it on Twitter….

Issa Rae’s book literally came out 3 whole years ago so why are we bringing up old stuff??
Second the internet must of been bored. Issa Rae is known for her satirical writing and work with her series.
And third y’all will not come for Issa today nope, no way, uh uh, nooooo.
How many times have we as black women been told to our face by other black men they don’t date black women let alone on social media?? Just about every other day.
Here is what the “fan” posted

I’m continuing to support Issa Rae and see not one thing wrong with what she said.
Black men want to be upset now.. REALLY??
How about all these so called upset black men boycott and stop supporting artist that degrade black women, abuse black women, and don’t support black women.
Example Steve Harvey and Tyrese who are supposed to be dating “experts”are always telling black women how to look and get a man by behaving a certain way to keep the love of that black man.
Can’t forget about Donald Glover. He continuously expresses his love for Asian women NOT African-Aerican women and you all still watch Atlanta….
The only reason some of you black men are bothered with what Issa Rae wrote is because she is a black woman and it is easier to come for her because of just that one reason. Well that and they feel a bit insecure.
I mean when black men say they don’t want to date a black woman where are your Twitter fingers then sir????
Trey Songz, 2 Chainz, Kodak Black like em “foreign,” you know anything other than black.
Did you know on daring sites black women and asian men are consistently picked last??? #notsofunfact
Black women are often considered “un-dateable,” are disrespected,  are treated as less-than more often than any other of our female counterparts.
So how about trying to uplift the black woman for once instead of tearing one down that is actually saying the truth. What we face on a daily basis you would not stand a chance in our shoes.
There is hard data everywhere to back all of these facts up so black men before you go on a tirade about shutting a African-American woman down because of her truth you might want to find out why she feels the way she does.
#Frontliners what are your thoughts?!
Here I thought Insecure was coming back for it’s third season lol.
