A recent study by Reviews.org reveals that the average American spent a significant amount of time on their phone in 2024 adding up to 2.5 months that year.
Key findings include that Americans check their phones approximately 205 times a day—about once every five minutes while awake.
81% of people check their phones within 10 minutes of waking up, and 66% use their phones while on the toilet.
Despite these habits, 43% of Americans feel they are addicted to their phones, though this figure has decreased by 24% compared to 2023.
The study found that on average, Americans spend 5 hours and 1 minute on their phone per day, and that’s how the 2.5 months per year was found.
