Seven Liverpool High School students in Onondaga County allegedly gained unauthorized access to a teacher-only online portal containing sensitive information like grades and disciplinary records.
Five students face felony charges, while two face misdemeanors.
The access was reportedly facilitated by a school employee who shared login credentials.
Although the students did not change any grades, they allegedly modified their own and others’ disciplinary records.
The school district has not provided further comments on the situation or any disciplinary actions. If they were adults, the felony charges could carry a prison sentence of one to four years.
