The Roots have unveiled “A Roots Picnic Experience: Class of ’95,” an exciting event celebrating hip-hop’s golden era with a star-studded lineup. Scheduled for June 8, 2025, at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl, the show will feature Lil’ Kim, Method Man & Redman, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, E-40, Raekwon, DJ Quik, Goodie Mob, Havoc, and others yet to be announced. The Roots will serve as the backing band for the performers, delivering a nostalgic and dynamic showcase.
This event, hosted by Live Nation Urban and the LA Phil, follows the success of last year’s “Roots Picnic: Hip-Hop Is the Love of My Life” at the same venue. Reflecting on the significance of 1995, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson shared, “That year was our true arrival…when our first major release, Do You Want More?!!!??! was sent into the world. Hip-hop was an entirely new ballgame then, producing classic albums and unleashing new artistic ideas.”
Tickets for the celebration of the Class of ’95 will be available starting December 11 at 10 a.m. PT on hollywoodbowl.com. Fans of classic hip-hop won’t want to miss this unforgettable evening honoring a legendary era.
