Chauncy Glover, an Emmy Award-winning journalist and KCBS/KCAL news anchor, has passed away at 39. Known for his impactful storytelling and dedication to mentorship, Glover’s family announced his death on November 6, 2024, though the cause remains undisclosed. Born in Athens, Alabama, Glover had a longstanding passion for journalism, earning degrees in Broadcast Journalism, Music, Theatre, and Public Relations from Troy University. His career spanned positions at stations in Columbus, Jacksonville, and Detroit before joining KTRK ABC-13 in Houston in 2015, where he became a main anchor. In October 2023, he moved to Los Angeles, co-anchoring newscasts for KCBS and KCAL. Glover also founded the Chauncy Glover Project, a nonprofit supporting young Black and Latino men through mentorship and empowerment. Tributes have poured in, celebrating Glover’s commitment to his community and journalistic excellence. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Sherry Glover, of Madison, Alabama. Funeral arrangements are pending.
