Free College Applications Now Available for New York Students

As of October 21, New York students can apply to SUNY and CUNY schools without paying application fees, as part of an initiative announced by Governor Kathy Hochul. This effort is aimed at reducing financial barriers and encouraging students to pursue higher education. SUNY applications are free until November 3, while CUNY applications are free for New York City residents through November 3, and for the rest of the state from November 4 to November 15. Additionally, 50 private colleges will also waive application fees, with varying deadlines. This marks the second year of this program, aimed at increasing access to higher education.
