AG’s Office will host gun buyback event in Rochester next weekend

The New York State Attorney General’s Office is hosting a gun buyback event in Rochester on Saturday, October 19. The event will take place at the Church of Love Faith Center at 700 Exchange St. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants can turn in working or non-working guns, with no questions asked, in exchange for pre-paid gift cards. The initiative aims to reduce gun violence in the community. Guns must be unloaded and placed in a plastic bag, paper bag, or box, and should be transported in the trunk if arriving by vehicle. Compensation includes $500 for semi-automatic rifles, $250 for handguns, $75 for rifles or shotguns, and $25 for non-working or homemade guns.
