The Theme for the 2025 Met Gala Has Been Revealed: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”

The theme for the 2025 Met Gala has been revealed as “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” focusing on the influence of Black men’s fashion and dandyism from the 18th century to today. Inspired by Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the exhibit will showcase garments, paintings, and photographs. This is the first Met Gala exclusively centered on menswear since 2003 and will feature a guest curator, a first since Andrew Bolton became Curator in Charge. Anna Wintour will be joined by co-chairs Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, and Lewis Hamilton, with LeBron James making his Met Gala debut as an honorary co-chair. The event will take place on May 5, 2025.
