Wendy Stone, a 63-year-old woman from Rochester, has been arrested and charged with unlawfully concealing her boyfriend Kenneth Crisman’s body and continuing to collect his social security benefits after his death. Crisman died on December 28, 2022, but Stone did not report his death. Instead, she allegedly moved his body to the basement, placing it in a plastic recycling bin and pouring bleach on it to prevent odor.
Stone continued to use Crisman’s social security debit card, which had been activated with a PIN in January 2023. She spent the funds at various stores and made ATM withdrawals, depleting $7,902 in benefits by September 2023. Additionally, Cody Stone, another individual, assisted Wendy in both moving the body and using Crisman’s debit card.
Wendy Stone faces charges of Theft of Government Funds, Aggravated Identity Theft, and making false statements, which carry a potential 10-year prison sentence and a $250,000 fine. Both Wendy and Cody Stone were also charged with unlawful concealment of a human corpse.
