Keturah Orji Is Focused On Making History at the Summer Olympics

Keturah Orji, a two-time Olympian and 10-time U.S. track and field champion, aims to make history at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris by becoming the first American woman to medal in the triple jump. Orji, who was the top American finisher in the women’s triple jump at the Prefontaine Classic this year, has a distinguished track record that includes setting multiple American records and winning numerous national titles.
Orji discovered her talent for track in high school after transitioning from gymnastics. Her Olympic journey began at the University of Georgia, where she earned a spot at the 2016 Rio Olympics and finished fourth, the highest ever by an American woman in her event.
As she prepares for her third Olympics, Orji focuses on enjoying the experience and competing at her best. Beyond athletics, she is a certified financial planner and advocates for Black women through her financial coaching business and her mentorship program, Amara’s Pride, which supports middle school girls in Atlanta.
Orji envisions a perfect Olympics involving participation in the opening and closing ceremonies, reconnecting with international friends, and ultimately winning a historic medal for the U.S. in the women’s triple jump.
