Rochester, N.Y. – Monroe County Executive Adam Bello has announced the opening of the online application portal for Community Festival Funding, marking the second year of financial support for local events. The 2024 Monroe County Budget has earmarked at least $250,000, a $50,000 increase from the previous year, to bolster community festivals. Applications for festivals happening this year are due by March 5, 2024. The funding aims to enrich Monroe County’s creative economy by supporting festivals that unite residents to celebrate history, culture, and the arts. To qualify, festivals must meet certain criteria, including having a free public component and serving at least 1,000 attendees. Events must occur within Monroe County between January 1 and December 31, 2024, and align with categories such as national observances, historical commemorations, artistic showcases, or promotions of Monroe County’s benefits.
