Tyler, The Creator: Not A Fan Of Top 5 Rappers List

Written by on June 10, 2023

Should you ever find yourself with a burning question for Tyler, The Creator, steer clear of asking about his top 5 rappers list.

During his chat with the Rap Radar podcast, the “Call Me If You Get Lost” rapper expressed that discussions around the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) lists are largely “performative.”

Tyler stated: ““Bro, who gives a *? You know what annoys me is when people are like, ‘This is my Top 5…’ and you got 17-year-olds like, ‘Yeah * Ready To Die and Enter The Wu-Tang is my favorite Top 10 album ever,’ like, bro, you just got hair on your *. It’s performative, and again some people might be right, but you got YoungBoy’s and Baby’s out here and that’s your favorite album? I don’t care about people’s objective top nothing, tell me what is your favorite. Because you learn so much from people and get context. I wanna know why you think Pookie Dookie’s second album is your favorite. ‘I have memories attached to it, my brother did this that and on track 7 he talks about this. I found out I was going through it.’ I wanna hear that.”
