NY Curfew for Bars and Restaurants to Extend to Midnight

Written by on April 15, 2021

In a press conference yesterday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo stated that the current 11 pm curfew for bars and restaurants is extending an extra hour. Starting on April 19th, they now have permission to be open till 12 am. Catered events will also gain an extra hour and will be able to continue until 1 am.

Gov. Cuomo is also opening up outdoor spectator events, such as auto and horse shows. They can be at 20% capacity. This statement comes just a few short days after Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said Buffalo Bills games at Highmark Stadium will be open for full capacity, but all those attended must be fully vaccinated. Gov. Cuomo stated that the state will not sign off on anything like that right now and it is too soon to make decisions.

A statement from Gov. Cuomo: “We tend to work in a collaborative with local governments, and we’re just not there yet, to make those decisions.”
