41 ‘Swingers’ Catch Covid at Naughty New Orleans Convention

Most of us are careful to stay away from others in the grocery store, but in New Orleans 300 strangers got intimate at a swinger’s convention last month.
The producer of the “Naughty N’awlins” convention Bob Hannaford is now regretting the massive get-together after it proved to be a super-spreader event.
On the first day, five swingers tested positive for Covid19. By the end of the 4-day convention, that number multiplied by ten.
“If I could go back in time, I would not produce this event again. Even though most of the 41 positive cases have mostly been asymptomatic or very mild cases” Hannaford wrote on his blog.
One person was hospitalized in serious condition.
Attendees were told to socially distance and wear masks in public spaces, but let’s be honest – people have sex at a swingers convention, so….
Hannaford wrote on his blog that he warned people with comorbidities not to come.
“If they had diabetes, are over 65, had heart problems, asthma, or other health issues that made COVID-19 a higher risk,” Hannaford wrote.
Comorbidities or not, I would not go to an intimate event with 300 people during a pandemic. Would you?
