3rd Annual Douglass Week Events Until Sunday, July 16

Llist of events left for the week:
July 13th:
- At 11 a.m. there will be a discussion about “The Disappearing of Douglass: Frank Yerby and Frederick Douglass.”
- At 11 a.m. there will be a Douglass themed story hour at the Rochester Museum and Science Center.
- At 1 p.m. there will be a guided tour of the “Flight to Freedom” exhibit at the Rochester Museum and Science Center.
- At 2 p.m. there will be a panel discussion on curating activism. The event will be held virtually.
- At 7 p.m. there will be a discussion called “Ink on the Page: Making Our Mark in Predominantly White Spaces” on East Main Street.
July 14th:
- At 9 a.m. there will be a video release about Frederick Douglass and Newcastle Upon Tyne.
- At 10 a.m. there will be a virtual tour video released called “Anti-Slavery Virtual Belfast Tour.”
- At 11 a.m. there will be a Douglass themed story hour at the Rochester Museum and Science Center.
- At 1 p.m. there will be a guided tour of the “Flight to Freedom” exhibit at the Rochester Museum and Science Center.
- At 12:30 p.m. there will be “Douglas Dialogues: The Douglas Grandchildren.”
- At 6 p.m. a “Frederick Douglas and Pan-Africanism” event will take place.
July 15th:
- At 10 a.m. a “Family Day Community Event” is planned.
- At 10 a.m. a virtual live discussion titled “The Exception is Not the Rule.”
- At 7:30 p.m. a “Harmonies of Freedom: Honoring the Douglass Family Legacy Through Music” performance will happen. The event is not free, and you must register beforehand. Click here to register.
July 16th:
- At 9:30 a.m. a “Musical Contribution from Barretstown in Kildare” virtual exhibition will take place.
- At 11 a.m. there will be a remembrance and reflection at the Douglas Family Gravesite.
- At noon there will be a Mount Hope Cemetery tour starting on Mount Hope Avenue.
- At 3:30 p.m. there will be an “Insta Walk and Photo Competition.”
- At 5 p.m. there will be a virtual closing event.
