Abandoned Home on City’s East Side Attracts Huge Pile of Trash

An abandoned home on Holbrooke street on the city’s east side has been attracting a lot of attention from neighbors and the media… but not for good reason.

According to nearby residents, the home is covered in trash inside and out and has been attracting rodents, roaches, and more than two dozen stray cats. Doors were left open and windows broken when the previous owners left, which allowed for the influx of kittens and critters hiding out inside.

The city of Rochester confirms that they took ownership of the home in foreclosure in January, but did not have control of the property until today, July 12th. See more about this story below.
