Two Georgia girls basketball coaches are being charged with murder for the death of a 16 year old for girl who died from doing outdoor drills in hot temperature weather.
Larosa Walker-Seekers and Dwight Palmer are both being charged with second-degree murder, second degree child cruelty, involuntary mass slaughter, and reckless conduct.
The charges stem from 2019 after the death of Imani Bell who attended Elite Scholar Academy after members of the girls basketball team practice outdoors in 90° degree temperatures.
The family filed a lawsuit back in February against the school.
The lawsuit reports the teenage girl outside running in the hot temperatures and was showing signs of heat exhaustion.
Witnesses says she told the coaches she could no longer perform the drills but was told to keep practicing right before collapsing.
She was rushed to the hospital where she died from complications of heat exhaustion.
