The Monroe County Veterans Service Agency (VSA) announced that it secured over $500,000 for two local widows whose husbands died due to the effects of Agent Orange, a chemical herbicide used by the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. County Executive Adam Bello shared the stories of these two widows, highlighting the impact of their late husbands’ service and the harmful consequences of Agent Orange exposure. The VSA played a key role in helping the widows win their court cases and obtain the compensation. In addition to this, the agency assists veterans and their families with monthly benefits, including disability compensation, pensions, and survivor benefits.
