Tougher Traffic Rules Ahead as New York DMV Targets High-Risk Drivers

New York’s DMV is introducing a stricter traffic point system later this month.

The look-back period expands from 18 to 24 months, making it easier for drivers to face suspension. 

Common violations like speeding and cellphone use will carry more points, with serious offenses reaching up to eight points. 

The changes target repeat and high-risk drivers.
