TikTok Star Khaby Lame Detained by ICE Over Visa Issue

Khaby Lame, the world’s most-followed TikTok creator, was briefly detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for overstaying his visa. The 25-year-old Italian citizen was held at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on June 6 but granted voluntary departure and has since left the country. Lame, known for his silent, comedic skits that mock overcomplicated “life hacks,” rose to fame during the pandemic and now boasts over 162 million TikTok followers. Despite his global fame, this incident underscores challenges faced by international influencers traveling for work. ICE confirmed he entered the U.S. legally in April but overstayed his visit. Lame’s team has not publicly commented on the matter.
