The NAACP has announced that the legendary Wayans family will be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame during the 56th NAACP Image Awards on February 22, 2025. This honor recognizes pioneers in their fields whose influence has shaped the entertainment industry for generations.

Known for revolutionizing comedy and breaking barriers for Black entertainers, the Wayans family has left an indelible mark on television, film, and stand-up. Keenen Ivory Wayans, the creative force behind In Living Color, launched the careers of major stars like Jamie Foxx, Jim Carrey, and Jennifer Lopez. Damon Wayans Sr., Marlon, and Shawn Wayans expanded the family’s legacy with hit shows and films like The Wayans Bros., My Wife and Kids, Scary Movie, and White Chicks.

The family’s next-generation talents, including Damon Wayans Jr., continue their legacy in Hollywood. A Scary Movie reboot is also in the works for 2026. The induction will be a celebration of their contributions to entertainment, culture, and diversity. The ceremony will air live on BET and CBS at 8 PM ET/PT.
