Taye Diggs To Be Inducted Into The Rochester Music Hall of Fame

Rochester’s Own actor-singer Taye Diggs will be inducted into the Rochester Music Hall of Fame as part of its 2026 class, the hall announced Monday morning. Diggs and The Skycoasters are the first two inductees to be announced. The Hall of Fame said in a press release that more inductees would be announced in the coming weeks. Diggs, who grew up in Rochester and graduated from School of the Arts, has starred in Broadway hits like “Rent” and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.”
“I’m incredibly grateful and humbled to be recognized by my hometown,” Diggs said in a statement. “Rochester played a huge role in shaping who I am as an artist, and this honor means more to me than I can express.” The Skycoasters will be the first inductees in a new Hall of Fame category called Local Legends. The party band has been a Rochester favorite for more than 50 years. The induction ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 26 at the Eastman Theatre.
