A study in Environment & Health found many wigs, braiding hair, and extensions sold online and in local beauty supply stores contain hazardous chemicals.
Researchers from Silent Spring Institute tested 43 products and found harmful substances in 41 of them, including chemicals linked to cancer.
Only Spetra and Latched & Hooked were labeled non-toxic and tested safe.
