Small Earthquake Recorded Near Honeoye Wednesday Night

The United States Geological Survey recorded a magnitude 2.3 earthquake near Honeoye around 8:27 p.m. Wednesday evening.
According to the survey, the earthquake occurred about four kilometers below the surface and was centered roughly 35 miles south of Rochester.
A 2.3 magnitude earthquake is considered minor but can still be felt by nearby residents. The shaking is often compared to the feeling of a semi-truck driving past a home, causing light rattling or brief shaking indoors.
