Rochester’s Own Greg Dortch Added To Buffalo Bills Practice Squad

The Bills have added Rochester native Greg Dortch to their practice squad, a potential key piece for a team that has struggled with punt returns. “Feel wanted…showcase what I can do,” Dortch said. He averaged 11.6 yards on 16 punt returns for the Arizona Cardinals last season, putting him as a top-ranked returner in the NFL. “I’m smart….if you look at the tape I’m dynamic,” Dortch said. Dortch already has connections with the Bills coaching staff. Bills Special Teams Coordinator Jeff Rodgers and Wide Receivers Coach Drew Terrell spent time with the Cardinals while Dortch was there, and that’s one of the things that brought him to Buffalo. “I’d be lying if I said it didn’t matter,” Dortch said.

“I feel like it was down to a couple teams, us being one of them,” said Bills Offensive Coordinator Joe Brady. “Once he became free we checked back in on him and he chose to join the practice squad.” The best part of being in Buffalo for Dortch is the homecoming. “My family is here, I’m coming back home,” Dortch said. Dortch’s dad went to high school at Brockport and his sister went to the Greece School District.
