Rochester Woman Hid Boyfriend’s Body to Collect Benefits

Wendy Stone of Rochester pleaded guilty to hiding her deceased boyfriend’s body for nine months to continue collecting his Social Security and SNAP benefits. Stone moved his body to the basement and poured bleach over it to mask the smell. She fraudulently received over $9,000 in public funds and faces up to 10 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for July 17. Authorities described the crime as a severe misuse of public trust.
