Rochester is suing landlord Tal Levi for 536 code violations at 13 of his properties, 388 of which are still unresolved.
The buildings have serious issues like no heat, infestations, and structural damage, and three may be demolished.
City of Rochester is seeking up to $3.7 million in fines from the landlord, plus $194,000 per day for unresolved code violations
and wants to stop him from selling any properties until repairs are made.
Levi owns a total of 54 properties in the city through his company, Barrus Realty.
This is part of the city’s effort to hold neglectful landlords accountable.
