Rochester Regional to End Labor & Delivery Services at Newark-Wayne Hospital

Rochester Regional Health announced plans to discontinue labor and delivery, newborn nursery, and postpartum services at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital later this year, pending state approval.
The health system cited declining birth rates, changing community needs, and staffing challenges. Deliveries will shift to Rochester General Hospital and other facilities, while Newark and Geneva OB-GYN offices will remain open for outpatient care. All other hospital services will continue operating.
