The Rochester Police Department is actively seeking new officers, with the application deadline fast approaching on Friday, April 4. Interested candidates will need to take a written exam on Saturday, May 4, followed by an agility test scheduled for June 20-22.
To apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Be a U.S. citizen
Hold a high school diploma or GED
Be at least 19 years old and not older than 34 on the written test date (military exceptions apply)
Possess a valid driver’s license
Have no felony convictions
Demonstrate good moral character and physical fitness
While residency is not required at the time of application, successful candidates must live in Monroe County or one of the surrounding counties (Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, or Wayne) upon appointment.
