Rochester Police have arrested 47-year-old Felix Rivera in connection with a January 18 shooting on Rauber Street. Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation and discovered a Hyundai with significant damage and blood inside.
A 15-year-old boy, who had been shot multiple times, was dropped off at Strong Hospital in a Kia that has since gone missing.
The investigation revealed that the boy was attempting to steal the Hyundai when Rivera allegedly fired at him with an illegally possessed handgun.
Rivera was apprehended by the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force and faces charges of Assault (2nd degree), Criminal Possession of a Weapon (2nd and 3rd degrees). He is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior conviction.
