Rochester Man Escapes Custody After Stolen Car Stop, Found Hours Later in Drain Pipe

A Rochester man, Eric Fountain, escaped police custody Saturday after a traffic stop on a stolen car where deputies say they found drugs.

After being cleared at the hospital and brought in for booking, Fountain allegedly ran while still handcuffed, injuring a deputy during the chase. He was found about five hours later hiding in a drainage pipe.

He now faces multiple felony charges, including escape, drug offenses, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
