Rochester Ends Warning Period: School Bus Stop-Arm Violators to Be Fined

Now, Rochester drivers who pass a school bus with its stop sign extended will face fines. Mayor Evans ended the warring period for the school bus camera program, which started on November 3, 2025.
First-time offenders will be fined $250, second-time $275, and subsequent offenses $300.
During the warning period, over 14,000 potential violations were recorded, resulting in more than 8,000 warning notices, showing widespread disregard for children’s safety across the city.
