Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is launching a new undergraduate major and minor in Artificial Intelligence starting this fall—the first program of its kind in the Rochester area.

According to Matt Huenerfauth, demand for AI professionals is rapidly growing, and the program aims to prepare students to develop and shape future AI technologies.
RIT has a long history in the field, having offered AI-focused courses for over 40 years and introducing a master’s degree in AI in 2023.
