RG&E and NYSEG Customers Facing Yet Another Rate Hike

The New York State Department of Public Service approved temporary rate hikes for Rochester Gas and Electric and New York State Electric and Gas customers starting June 1.

RG&E customers will see electric delivery rates rise 2.9% and gas delivery rates increase 1.2%. NYSEG customers will see a 0.2% electric increase and 1.7% gas increase.

The increases are smaller than what the utilities originally requested and are considered temporary while state regulators continue negotiating long-term rates tied to growing energy demand and electrification mandates.
