RCSD Hiring Ahead of the 2026-27 School Year

The Rochester City School District (RCSD) is working to fill approximately 275 positions before students return on September 8, including:

• 150 teaching positions
• 125 paraprofessional positions

The hiring push comes after 98 teachers retired, creating an immediate need for staff.

RCSD is currently recruiting for:

• Full-time teachers
• Part-time teachers
• Substitute teachers
• Teaching assistants
• Other school support staff

Many of the positions offer flexible schedules that align with the school day and school calendar.

The district is also promoting its Teach Rochester program, which supports:

• College students working toward teacher certification
• Current RCSD employees interested in becoming teachers
• Individuals with a bachelor’s degree pursuing alternative teacher certification pathways

RCSD is encouraging parents, caregivers, and relatives of district students to apply for available positions.
