Pennsylvania Police Scramble to Solve Theft of 100,000 Stolen Eggs

Authorities in Pennsylvania are investigating a bizarre heist involving 100,000 stolen eggs, valued at approximately $40,000. The theft occurred on Saturday night from the back of a Pete & Gerry’s Organics distribution trailer in Antrim Township.
With no leads so far, the Pennsylvania State Police are relying on community tips, surveillance footage, and witness accounts to crack the case. Trooper First Class Megan Frazer described the incident as “definitely unique” in her 12-year career.
The theft comes amid skyrocketing egg prices, driven by ongoing bird flu outbreaks that have led to mass chicken culls. Egg prices have more than doubled since 2023, with the U.S. Department of Agriculture predicting another 20% increase this year.
Pete & Gerry’s Organics is cooperating with law enforcement to resolve the case, but so far, the identity of the culprit remains a mystery.
