NY Reports Record 71,000 Flu Cases in One Week as Severe Strain Spreads

New York reported a record 71,000+ flu cases in one week, mainly from a severe Influenza A strain, with over 3,600 people hospitalized. 

Officials warn the worst of the season is still ahead after holiday gatherings.

Doctors say flu vaccines don’t always prevent illness but greatly reduce severe symptoms, and it’s still not too late to get vaccinated.
