More Than 800 Students Over 9 Counties At Urban League of Greater Rochester 46th Annual Black Scholars Ceremony

A local nonprofit is celebrating the achievements of hundreds of students in the area on Monday. The Urban League of Greater Rochester hosted the 46th annual Black Scholars Ceremony at the Joseph A. Florence Rochester Riverside Convention Center, highlighting the academic achievements of more than 800 students across nine counties. All of the students honored at the event had maintained an 83% average or higher through all four years of their high school career. The theme of the event is “Dream: The Blueprint to Purpose,” and featured local singer Danielle Ponder as the keynote speaker.
