The Monroe County Water Authority (MCWA) recently notified customers of a long-overlooked violation dating back to 1998. The New York State Department of Health found MCWA had failed to install a required corrosion control system—due to incorrect guidance from the DOH itself. While the water remains safe and has never exceeded lead action levels, the system must now be installed within two years.
