Monroe County Board of Elections Relocates to New Secure Facility

Written by on October 3, 2025

The Monroe County Board of Elections has moved into a brand-new secure facility on Smith Street in Rochester, bringing all operations—ballot processing, staff offices, inspector training, and storage for 1,200 voting machines—under one roof.

Officials say the move strengthens the chain of custody, improves security, and saves taxpayers money over the 30-year lease.

This November’s general election will also debut new voting machines, which have tested well and are designed to be simple for voters to use.

County leaders hope the changes boost transparency and trust in the election process.
