A Missouri man is accused of scamming car buyers through Facebook Marketplace by selling stolen vehicles with forged paperwork.
Jackson County prosecutors say 24-year-old Mamadou Diallo faces 14 felony charges after allegedly defrauding at least eight victims out of more than $24,000. Investigators say Diallo used online aliases and provided buyers with what appeared to be legitimate titles and bills of sale.
After the sales, each buyer discovered the vehicle was stolen. Diallo remains in custody on a $30,000 cash-only bond and could face up to 98 years in prison if convicted.
