Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion made her Broadway debut on March 24 in the Tony-winning Moulin Rouge! The Musical, stepping into the traditionally male role of Zidler at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre for an eight-week engagement running through May 17. She is the first female-identifying performer to play the role in any Moulin Rouge! production worldwide. During her opening night, she performed two of her own hits, “Body” and “Savage,” alongside the show’s catalog. Queen Latifah and Tiffany Haddish attended the debut. Moulin Rouge! The Musical is set to close on July 26 after seven years on Broadway. Previous stars in the Zidler role have included Tituss Burgess, Boy George, Wayne Brady, and Bob the Drag Queen.
