People have a lot to say about Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s latest celebrity moment. The congresswoman took the stage during Chris Brown and Usher’s R&B Tour stop at AT&T Stadium in Arlington to honor the two artists for their contributions to music. But what was presented as a celebration of Black music and culture quickly sparked controversy, largely because one of the honorees was Chris Brown. Crockett, alongside Texas state Rep. Venton Jones, presented Brown with congressional recognition during Saturday night’s show. While the crowd went wild for the celebration, folks online were less willing to praise the effort.
