If you have tried to file for unemployment but can’t due to the New York State Department Of Labor website crashing there is good news.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has confirmed through his office that the state is getting help from Google. The two entities are partnering to create a new interface for the system that is currently in place.
With this new system it will allow the increased traffic to the website due to the coronavirus pandemic. People signing up for unemployment will be able to do so without the website crashing.
The revamped website is expected to be available this week for those who need to sign up for unemployment.
The Department of Labor hotline hours are now seven day a week 8am-5pm (888) 209-8124
According to WHEC.com, the Department of Labor is expected to add 1000 positions to handle the influx of new cases.
Google is out here getting stuff done.
