Junior Bridgeman, the former NBA star and billionaire businessman, died on Tuesday after suffering a medical emergency at a downtown Louisville event.
The 71-year-old collapsed during the 45th Annual Leadership Luncheon on Scouting, where he reportedly believed he was having a heart attack. Emergency personnel were called, but he could not be saved.
Bridgeman had a successful basketball career, playing for the University of Louisville and spending over a decade in the NBA, primarily with the Milwaukee Bucks’
After retiring, he built a fast-food empire, owning over 100 Wendy’s and Chili’s restaurants, and had a net worth of approximately $1.4 billion.
