False 911 Call Sparks Heavy Police Presence Near South Avenue

On Sunday evening, a false 911 call triggered a major police response near South Avenue in Rochester.
According to the Rochester Police Department, officers responded around 7:06 p.m. after an anonymous caller claimed to have committed a firearm-related offense.
Police established a perimeter and temporarily closed parts of Elmwood Avenue and South Avenue while investigating.
Authorities later determined the report was false, and no injuries were found.
